Hello,
I am trying to watch a presentation created using ScreenWatch. However, whenver I open the file, RealPlayer crashes within the first five seconds or so. Other (non ScreenWatch) files play fine.

I am running Mac OS X 10.4.6 and have RealPlayer v 10.0.0 (352) installed.

Sure. I'm using Mozilla Camino to browse the web. However, in this case I'm just opening the .smi file directly from Finder, so that shouldn't have any impact on whether it will play or not.

Hi Trevor,

I think I may know what the problem is. The Mac plugin was designed to work with content made with version 5.6 of ScreenWatch and above.

Some of the older versions of ScreenWatch would produce some instructions for the SW machine that it could not understand.

However, I'll take a further look at it. Please let me know what time in the presentation you found your crash and I'll try and reproduce it here.

Also, you may ask your instructor (or if you are the instructor), to upgrade to the latest ScreenWatch as it produces media files that the mac plugin can understand better.

The crash occurs within the first five seconds or so. The exact time varies, but it's pretty much as soon as I start playing it.

I'll see what I can do about getting the video redone, but the chances of that are pretty slim. The video was made by a previous professor and just gets reused each semester.
