Hi,

I'm trying to get a real player stream that contains "application/vnd.optx-screenwatch" components to work with the linux RealPlayer 11.0.

research has lead me to this site Smiler
I found some linux plugins for realplayer 8.0, but needless to say, they don't work well with 11.0

Do you have any linux plugins available for testing ? 32 or 64bit (ideally both !)

Thanks.

Hi Simon,

Real Networks has backed off in their support of third party datatypes for their plugin. If you find a bug in their player, they want you to fix it in the open source community.

We are concentrating on supporting Windows Media and other "soon to be supported" formats that will allow playback on content produced in newer versions of ScreenWatch.

What you might want to do is to see if you can get a free windows emulator (possible vmware) and then install and run the windows version of the realplayer (which we do have plugins for currently).

Sorry about that, we would have liked to maintain our support of real, but it is rather difficult to support our product as well as theirs....

We have a solution working on a windows virtual machine, but I'm always keen for things to work natively where possible Smiler

Do you support, or are you planning to support Microsoft's Silverlight framework ? (http://www.microsoft.com/SILVERLIGHT/)
Moonlight is the linux equivalent, and can play (legally) windows media files. (there has been some collaboration between Microsoft and Novell on this). If your content (and older content too) will play on a silverlight player, then there's a very good chance it will play on Linux with no extra work from you guys.

Thanks.
