When I try to record after a few seconds I get the message "There was an error detected when recording your job. It has now been stopped."
Everything seems fine with camera and microphone, I get this message when I try recording audio only as well. The camera I am using is a QuickCam Fusion, although as I say I get the message with audio only as well. |

Hi Pete,
Thank you for your post. This error may come up because of several causes. 1. Either firewall or McaFee, or internet security programs are blocking communication between ScreenWatch and it's sub programs. 2. There is an unknown USB device on your system and Microsoft has added a phony network connection for it. You can see this in your network devices. (I can give you a work around for this at the end of this post). 3. The drivers for your camera are not installed correctly. 4. The encoder of the format you are choosing does not support your camera. (I think you should not have any problems with the logitech camera though). Here are a couple of things to test after you have made sure you network security software is off and/or disabled. 1. In the audio control tab, select record remote computer, then type in the address "localhost" without the quotes. After you type in localhost, be sure to select the test connection button to save your settings. 2. You will need to do the same under screen settings as in #1 above. If this fixes your problem, then there is some sort of networking problem that ScreenWatch does not understand, but you can run in this mode with no problem. I'd appreciate hearing back from you to see if this works. If this suggestion doesn't work, please contact via email support@optx.com and leave your contact information. We'll be happy to contact you and work through the issue. Thanks, OPTX Support |

Firewalls are tured off, Symantec anti virus is off. I can use the camera and audio check function in Screenwatch end everything is fine (can see the camera image fine, audio indication is OK).
The localhost part was set up anyway and the test connection works. I'm using Screenwatch to record the same PC that it's loaded on (not a different PC). I'm still getting the same problem though. Have you any other ideas or shall I e-mail support as you suggested? Thanks Pete |

Hi Pete,
Thanks for trying those things. The other thought is that our recording display driver might not have been installed for some reason. Please go to Start->All Programs->ScreenWatch 6.0->Display Driver Manager Can you tell me what text you see in the Display Driver Status box? It should say Disabled/Unloaded. After your reply here, I can send you email and we'll connect up with you that way. Thanks, OPTX Support |

Hi
The Display Driver Status was set Enabled/Loaded. I changed it to Disabled/Unloaded but still got the same problem (even after re-booting). Thanks |

Nope, ignore that previous post. Disabling/Unloading the Display Driver seems work after a reboot.(I was writing the post on another PC while waiting for the test PC to reboot, and posted before I checked the result. mondays!).
Thanks for your help. Pete |

Hi Pete,
Does that mean you are recording ok? I didn't quite understand your last posts. Let me know what your status is and if you are still not recording, I'll try and contact you in your afternoon time. Thanks, OPTX Support |

Everything seems to be recording Ok now. I had to select Disabled/Unloaded via the Display Driver application and then reboot.
Thanks |
