Hi Brian,
Wondering what effect using multiple monitors/keyboards with an auto-sensing KVM switch would have on a system running Screenwatch. I am thinking of doing this in lieu of remote computers. Thanks, Dave |

Hi Dave,
I think that running a hardware solution to swap a display is not the way to go. Remember that the ScreenWatch recording mechanism is in the kernel of the Win XP OS. So only that instance of the Win XP os will be recorded. A time true way to record remotely without the ScreenWatch function is using VNC. VNC is free, easy to install and can display desktops of multiple os types (mac, unix, and windows) from over the network. You will want to record from and control the machine from the viewer as it will give you the best quality.... Hope that helps. If you do try KVM and find a solution that works, please post back here... Thanks, OPTX Support |

Hi Brian,
I'm not trying to display a remote machine's desktop on the Screenwatch machine's monitor. Rather, it's the inverse; I'd simply like to display the Screenwatch machine's monitor output on multiple monitors, using a VGA splitter, essentially. This would be in conjunction with a keyboard/mouse switch to allow control of the machine by multiple keyboard/mouse combinations. Would there be any problems doing this? Thanks, Dave |

Hi Dave,
I don't think it should be a problem. But definitely check it. We don't do any special capture of the keyboard driver etc. I believe some of our customers have done similar things before. Thanks, Brian |
