My school uses real player and OPTX to make lectures. There is the usual video in upper left and a shot of the pc screen on the right.

i use real player with the screenwatch plug in to view them both simultaneously. i would like the ability to speed up playback by a certain amount, say 10%. This functionality is available on many other applications but not real player.

Can I view my files with another player or convert them to a format that can be viewed at a faster playback speed?

My professor just talks to slow and I could get the same lecture in 2/3rds the amount of time.

Thanks for any/all help!

Alex

Hi Alex,

You can't use another player for smi files because the smi file is just a text xml file that refers to media player specific files.

However, you may want to do a google search on plugins that will let you do what you want. There used to be a plugin for the realplayer that would let you play things at different speeds. I just can't seem to remember the name of the plugin. You might try at the real site also...

Thanks,

http://www.enounce.com/products/real/2xav/download.shtml

This will increase playback speed on real player. Cost is $30 though!
