Hi Tony,
Microsoft has an outstanding bug where a mirror display driver (which we use to do our recording process), does not show the uninstall option on Windows 2000, or cannot be uninstalled using an installer program. However, there is a way to uninstall the driver from your system manually. The process involves changing a registry setting on your computer so that the uninstall tab shows up in your device manager when you right click on the ScreenWatch capture driver. If you are not comfortable about following these instructions, please contact support@optx.com with your contact information and a support engineer will be happy to walk you through the uninstall process. Here is how you uninstall the screenwatch capture driver on Windows 2000 (Note: on XP this is not an issue). 1. Open up the registry editor and traverse to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\omir2 2. When you have omir2 highlighted, you'll see some registry variables on the right hand side. Look for the "Start" variable. 3. Double click on the "Start" variable and change its value from 3 to 4. 4. Reboot your system. 5. Go to device manager and the uninstall option for the ScreenWatch Capture driver will now be present and activated. Select Uninstall. 6. Reboot your system as per Windows 2000 instructions in the device manager. 7. The ScreenWatch capture driver is uninstalled. If you have any problems doing this, please contact our support dept at the above address and someone can help you. Thanks, OPTX Support |
