When installing ScreenWatch 5.6 on a Dell Optiplex GX270 with the intel graphics card the display driver will only show 8 bit resolution. Only uninstalling ScreenWatch seems to help....any ideas?

Hi,

The mirror driver in SW5.6 should not interfere with your intel driver at all.

We switched recording technology from 5.5 to 5.6. The version 5.5 versions would install our driver and force it to 16 bit color. The version 5.6 installed a mirror driver that runs along side the real driver.

If you look at the SW display driver configuration on the 5.6 product, you can "disable" the driver without rebooting your system. You may want to do this and see if you can change your resolution back to 16 bit (or higher). Again, it shouldn't matter what you have the intel color set to as we are running our mirror driver in parallel and the OS sends our driver the data in 16 bit format regardless of your "real" driver's settings.

Also, you may want to make sure that you have the latest intel driver installed also.

Please check this and if you are still having problems, contact us at support@optx.com directly and we can help you further.
